Bloggin' For Therapy Series #1: Out With Old And In With The New

Series #1: Out With Old And In With The New

Getting rid of the junk in your life may seem difficult.
As Humans we like to hold on to things that aren't necessarily bad for us but aren't doing us any good either.
There are many ordeals, different problems or issues that we must throw away in order to move on.
For example: many people are struggling to move on from their past, while there might be others that are having issues with finance, unemployment, weight loss or maybe relationship issues.
What ever is your problem, just know that you can overcome it & that not problem can overcome you and nothing is to big for what the Heavenly Father can do in your life.

I would like to inform you that it's not as bad as it may appear to be. I guarantee that you will feel better when you rid yourself from the things that keep you in bondage.

So stop sitting around and feeling sorry for yourself. Make a change in your life!

Spend Time Alone
 ------------

We often find ourselves giving in to the same daily routines which got us into our situation to begin with. By spending quality time with yourself you are able to release your stress which can help you have a better attitude towards your problems. This time alone is also important because it helps you discover you & reminds you of who you use to be before you experienced your current situation. There are many options to finding out what works for you and what you enjoy doing. This is your chance and your excuse to do the things that you have always wished to do. Maybe go for a walk on the beach early in the morning, have fun on your dream vacation! many enjoy cooking, or get a bite to eat during your lunch break, you can even call a day off of work and go to the spa. Another thing that may help with your stress is opening your blinds each morning to let the sun shine through, this is by far one of the best ways to be introduced to a new day, with a positive attitude. Remember what ever you do, make sure it's something that you will enjoy.

What worked for me:
 ------------

Exercising > it really helped to relieve my stress and any other bottled up feelings.
Writing> it is high recommended by therapist etc., even if you're not a pro at writing, it doesn't matter. When you write you not only find out about yourself but it really is therapy and it helps you to get those feeling that were hiding deep inside of you.
Singing> You do not have to be Mahalia Jackson or whitney Houston to be able to sing. It might not be as pleasant but it doesn't matter. When you sing aloud from your heart, emotions come with it and through your emotions you are able to let go of buried issues within yourself.

            What Are You Doing Wrong?
    ------------
Be honest with yourself. You need to have the confidence to stand up to the desires that you have, which aren't doing you any good. If it is finance, cut up your credit cards, sell the expensive items that you never needed before you even bought them & pay off your debt. Whatever your circumstance may be, that you are trying to overcome, the key is to not play the blame game but to acknowledge that you are in charge of you and your own happiness. You are the reason there is clutter and unwanted things in your life and you are the only one who can change your situation. Make the effort to watch & pay close attention to your actions. Write your struggle down on a piece of paper and throw it away, this represents your problems going away. You are able to feel a sense of relief and positive feelings when you relate the paper to your current situation. Write your goal down or cut a picture out of a magazine of what it is that you want to achieve out of life, let this inspire you to get rid of the poison within your life and within yourself. Some people make a dream board, where images are cut out as a reminder of what it is that you may want out of life. It is like a collage of your dreams. Whether it be spirituality, material things and or happiness etc. there is something that you want.

Tell Yourself NO
 ------------

It is essential that you tell yourself the two letter word, NO. By telling yourself this, you are able to stay determined and remember what you are trying to overcome. Always have something there like a substitute to remind yourself NOT to give in. A good substitute would be a note to yourself. Keep one in the bathroom in the morning, so it's the first thing you see. & repeat what you wrote down to yourself over and over again, until you feel confident.
I know, I know, your thinking 'your making it sound easier than it actually is,' well, that's simply untrue. If you constantly tell yourself discouraging words, then how can you expect a positive result to be birthed out of something negative? It just won't happen. That's is why you must understand the importance & power of your words and of your thoughts, you discourage yourself unknowingly when you speak and think negatively about yourself. You must change your thinking and tell yourself NO, so when words like this come to mind, they won't affect you, this is a way to move forward. Keep your eyes on the prize!

Example of the NO:
 ------------

- Example, if you are trying to lose weight and you are about to walk past a fast food restaurant, simply take a low calorie, tasty snack with you on your run, like a yogurt or a breakfast bar. This will help you keep your mind on your goal. When you get used to doing this, sometime down the line you will be able to overcome that urge wen it arises again. GET MAD & BEAT THE URGE, FIGHT BACK!

Writing this blog is a way for me to get rid of the stress & clutter within myself & in my life as well.
This is my therapy.
& it wasn't until yesterday that I realized that I haven't written in my journals for a long time.
Not written was apart of the problem that I have been having lately.
Writing is one of my reliefs and escapes, I learn about myself
& discover the feelings that i've hid from myself.
I prefer to write opposed to telling someone how i'm feeling
because it is more intimate to me when i'm writing. It is between
the Heavenly Father & Myself.
This is my own escape and no one can pass judgement on me.
One thing that life has taught me in my short 19 years of life,
is that you shouldn't assume that you know someone or think you may have them figured out
because really you do not know, like you think you know.
Maybe that will be my blog motto!
So this is something that I do for me!
While learning about myself, I hope to help someone else in the process.
