Spending To Much?

If your piggy bank looks like this, then you probably are spending to much money. The economy is no doubt tough. With the unemployment numbers rising and the tax increase etc.
Tax = kill
We basically have no choice but to save. I am not a crazy spender, I'm good at saving and of course I'm also very good, or really good at spending also. But lately I have been saving a considerable amount, I mean I don't really do anything but go to school etc. ---> Well actually not, ''etc.'' because I do not do anything besides, school. One thing that works for me is, as soon as I get money. Lets use a $20.oo as an example, I'll put half, $10.oo, in an envelope and put the envelop somewhere I know that I won't be able to find it. & when I really need the money, i'll tear up my room looking for it, & then, i'll eventually i'll remember where I put it. Sounds like it's too much, but it works for me. I know your thinking, ''What kind of world does she live in, that she can save half of the money she gets?'' I understand times are hard, so save what you can, do not feel pressured to save more than you can save because you are setting your self up.There are also sites that you can go onto that will give you knowledge on how to better manage & save your money. Lots of tips. I'm saving, just because I like saving but also because I love to travel. The money that I'm saving is for that, travel. That is another thing, figure out why you are saving money, and before you spend, think about your reason. You can also try using a safe & write your code down and hide the paper from yourself, that is if you're one of those uncontrollable, psycho, compulsive spenders, when you see money, you lose your mind and because it's there it must be spent. I hope you all will be well disciplined ;-}

Song(s) Of The Moment:

''Grace'' by Bebe and Cece Winans
''I'm Gonna Be Ready'' by Yolanda Adams

What Did I Eat?:
Nothing really, I just had Pat and Oscars bread sticks & a medium mountain dew drink.
It made me feel so bloated but it was good! Yet Unhealthy.

Master Cleanse:

Which brings me to my next topic, cleansing!
I do not know if you all have heard of the Mater Cleanse.
Well if you haven't there is a link below:
And
It tells you about the cleanse, there is also more blogs about the master cleanse and the journey,
you can also look on youtube for videos, it's a new a fad, i guess.

Here is the recipe:

1. 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2. 2 tablespoons of organic maple syrup grade B
3. 1/10 tablespoon of cayenne pepper powder
4. 10 oz glasses of distilled water (This is around 295ml of water)

Well any who back to my topic, this is not just about cleansing on the inside but in my life as well. Lets start with cleansing on the inside first since the inside is more important that the outside. That sounded deep, hu! lol! I'm kidding!
I do not follow all of the rules for the master cleanse because I'm not that disciplined, I must eat unless I'm fasting but that is totally different. I'm all over the place, let me stick to the topic! I do the salt water flush, it is so nasty! But after a while you get use to it, so it doesn't taste that bad after a while. You drink the salt water first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. You use sea salt or uniodized salt, I used the uniodized salt, it works real well, believe me! Make sure when you drink the salt water that you are always near a toilet, it is no joke! It gets rid of all the, dare I say, boo boo, thats bad, i'll just say it cleans your intestines.

Salt Water Recipe:
1 quart of lukewarm or room temperature water;
2 level teaspoons of sea salt

You are supposed to drink the smooth move tea the night before you do the salt water flush, on an empty stomach. You can get the Smooth Move Tea at a health store, like Sprouts Farmers Market, if I'm not mistaken I think that Albertson's sell the tea as well. But an organic store will definitely have it.

The Cayenne Pepper burns your throat, many people chug it down, you know I'm not doing that! I always have a cold glass of water with me when I drink the concoction with Cayenne Pepper in it, I usually drink 2 glasses of water because it is so hot. I recommend drinking this through a straw because Apple Cider Vinegar on your teeth is not good. Do not feel discouraged though because it'll pay off in the end, you'll be healthier. Instead of the Master Cleanse Recipe that is posted above, I tweaked it a little to fit what would be best & healthier for me:

1. 2 tablespoons of organic apple vinegar
3. 1/10 tablespoon of cayenne pepper powder
4. 10 oz glasses of distilled water (This is around 295ml of water)

I also eat, I have to be more serious about eating healthy while doing this cleanse because that salt water flush is just to nasty to be playing around, & I'm unhealthy, so I need a cleanse! I also have to start exercising again. I think this cleanse is good for 3-7 days but over that seems a little unhealthy because your not really eating. When you get hungry you basically ease your hunger by drinking the first recipe above, I'll post it again:

1. 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2. 2 tablespoons of organic maple syrup grade B
3. 1/10 tablespoon of cayenne pepper powder
4. 10 oz glasses of distilled water (This is around 295ml of water)

To break the diet, I believe it is different for each person, depending on if you are a vegetarian or a non vegetarian. There is a link below that you can check out, that might help.

I think it is a little to unhealthy for me, I must eat. I enjoy eating lots of fruit, while on the cleanse and off the cleanse. One thing that I notice that is a positive outcome when I'm on this cleanse, is that I drink lots of water. If your going on the Master Cleanse to lose weight, I would like to inform you that many people lose lots of weight while on the cleanse but gain it back very rapidly because you do not really eat solid food while on the cleanse. I don't think it is very healthy to go on it for to long and deprive yourself of food.  So in order to not stuff your face when you get off of the cleanse, do something that you feel works better for you. However, it is good if your trying to lose weight for an event that is a week or two away!

Health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:

Health benefits of Lemon:

Health benefits of Cayenne Pepper:
And

Health benefits of Sea Salt:
And

I hope that helped a little, I'm not a pro at the whole Master Cleanse because I made up my own rules!
Lastly, I am not a doctor, so you should talk to your doctor first, to see if this is healthy for you!

Hair In A Trans

I didn't want to post anything about hair because that is not what my blog is about but I thought would help a little, for the transitioner's!
I have been transitioning for 5 months now, I started at the end of July. Yay for me!
One thing that I have learned that is the most important is moisturizing and deep conditioning.
I'm not disciplined on my water intake, the most I drink a day, dare I say.... probably 1 glass or 2, I know that is so bad!
I'm working on it though, i'm unhealthy.
At the beginning of my transition my favorite style was the bantu knot out! As seen in the picture above, except my hair was damp, you can see the results on the pics to the left of the blog, in the green shirt.
I really loved doing the bantu knot out because I was addicted to curling my hair & i learned that when you transition it is not good to use heat, I thought I would never put the heat down, but I over came it!
I also have hair rollers but I don't curl my hair with them because I always wear my scarf over my head anyway.
I use to love doing my hair, but now I just put my hair in a style and then put my scarf over it.
I'm currently rocking my hair in big flat twist going back, like cornrows, and of course my black thick scarf over it.
I'm scared of germs too, so I don't want anything from the polluted air outside to get into my squeaky clean hair lol!
I am going to gradually cut my hair ever month or 2 months, depending on how I feel!
Wish me luck on my journey!

Homemade Deep Conditioner:
-1 Egg
-Olive Oil
- 1/4 Cup Of Honey(Organic)
*leave on for 15+ minutes then rinse, do not rinse in hot water because the egg will cook!

Recommended Products:
Castor oil
I like castor oil because it is a substitute for holding my edges down instead of using gel.
It also helps your hair to grow back fast, I used it on my eyebrows when I plucked them
during graduation in June & my hair grew back within a week.

Mane N Tail Conditioner
I ran out of my conditioner. I must say this conditioner, I liked the most. I still have a bottle full of the shampoo, I didn't like the shampoo because it dried out my hair, thats why I use baking soda because shampoo's dry my hair out.
The Mane N Tail Conditioner keeps your hair moisturized for a long time. & It is very creamy and light.

Baking Soda
Many people use Organic vinegar for their hair, or they mix the vinegar with the baking soda.
I prefer the baking soda by itself, maybe I use to much vinegar, I don't know but it dry's my hair out & I do not like the way it feels
because it feels dry lol!
The baking soda, I did not expect for it to make my hair feel the way it did.
My scalp felt squeaky clean, like never before, every since then I always use my baking soda.
I recommend this for anyone who had built up, wants to clarify and just wants clean hair.
I use this every week when I wash my hair.

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
This is by far my favorite product next to Baking Soda.
If you have really dry hair, then this is good for you because your hair will be moisturized for days, probably even weeks.
it is $10+ but it is really worth it & you do not have to use a lot because it melts in your hand.
When you buy it is a solid but when the room temperature is warm or hot, it melts.

Extra Tips:
One last thing, I noticed that when I worked out my hair seemed to be growing faster
but I was also taking my vitamins (biotin)
& because I was working out I was also drinking lots of water.
Make sure you are constantly deep conditioning and moisturizing because where your new growth
and relax hair meet is where your hair is the most weakest so you do not
want to damage the new growth.
No HEAT.
This will damage your new growth, especially if you use heat to often.
But if you must use heat, make sure it is on the low setting.

Site's that might help with transitioning:
http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/
http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/

-These are my favorite website, they are very helpful,
everyone has so much information to give and the girls are so nice on these sites.

Encouraging Words:
Be patient and make sure on your transitioning process that you eat healthy and exercise as often as you can.
Also drink lots of water and always moisturize and deep condition every week!
It will get hard at times but do not slack!
-I need to drink more water!!

Transitioning Start: July 2009
End of Transitioning: July 2011
